Thanks for visiting this website and wanting to know a little bit about me.
If you have been thinking about starting a Home Business or just trying to make extra money on the side, I know exactly what you are going through. It's kind of scary, yet exciting, when you think about starting your own business or starting a hobby that can generate extra cash.
But I congratulate you, since you have decided to take that first step by looking into the business of making homemade soap.
As a kid growing up in Wichita, Kansas, I had a strong desire to earn extra money, be independent and have my own business. My first opportunity to do this began as a Lawn Mowing service for my neighbors.
I was quite surprised at how fast the business grew, but as I look back, I now realize why it was such a success. I had a strong desire to do a good job, be fair with my customers, and not overcharge. Or to state it another way, I "Put My Customers First". This worked so well that I never had to advertise because "word of mouth" brought in all of the business I could handle.
My dad, who served in the South Pacific during World War II, loved to give advice. One of the things he told me many times, and that I have always lived by, is "Whatever you decide to do in life, be the best that you can be".
Even after graduating from college and starting my first, real job with a construction company, I never lost the desire to be self-employed.
After working for 10 years in the construction industry as a Project Manager and Cost Estimator, I wanted a change in life and decided to go back to school and get a degree in Computer Science. I was eventually hired by the Boeing Commercial Airplane Company and worked as a Computer Analyst for 11 years.
While at Boeing, I started a home business where I used my home computer to create graphics for individuals and businesses. Most of my clients were professionals who spoke at conferences and conventions around the country, so the final products were usually color slides that were made from the graphics.
After the fall of the twin towers in NYC on Sept 11, 2001, the airline industry took a nosedive and Boeing laid off thousands of people. I was laid off in 2002 and decided this was my opportunity to try and be totally self-employed. Since then, I have been working hard, trying to survive on my own. It's been difficult, but I'm determined to make it work.
I now build websites and generate a little income by selling advertising space on the web pages and also market and sell other people's products online. This is called "Affiliate Sales" or "Affiliate Marketing".
I wish you the Best and hope you fulfill your dreams, whether it is to Start a Home Business, Earn Extra Cash, or just to Save Some Money in these challenging economic times.
